Port Committee Meeting

Paul Cozza, CEO North Carolina State Ports Authority, will be presenting at the September, 2014 meeting of the Morehead City Port Committee.

There will also be updates to:

  • Port traffic
  • Dredging

The Channel Marker Restaurant hosts the Morehead City Port Committee Meeting generally on the first Thursday of the Month. Due to the meeting being later in September, the October meeting will not be held.

The NC State Ports Authority biography for Paul Cozza:

Paul J. Cozza was appointed Chief Executive Officer of the North Carolina State Ports Authority in March 2014.

Prior to his role as Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Cozza previously served as the president of The CSL Group, a marine dry bulk cargo service and the world's largest owner and operator of self-unloading vessels. He also served in several roles for Maersk Line, Limited including Chief Financial Officer, Senior Vice-President Finance and Administration and the Vice President for Network Planning.

In addition to his experience with the world’s largest container line, Mr. Cozza has more than a decade of experience with CSX Corporation/Sea-Land Service, Inc. He was the Vice President for Terminal Operations and General Manager, Europe as well as the Tradelane Director, Asia Container Services.

About the Port of Morehead City

One of the deepest ports on the US East Coast, the Port of Morehead City is located just four miles from the Atlantic Ocean. The port handles both breakbulk and bulk cargo and is the second largest importer in the country for natural rubber.

As a leading exporter of phosphate, the Port of Morehead City features a dry-bulk facility with a 225,000-ton capacity warehouse and other open storage is available. A unique tax credit is available to North Carolina port users.

Access to Interstates 95 and 40 is available via U.S. Highways 70 and 17 as well as train service from Norfolk Southern.
